God Justifies the Ungodly

Charles Spurgeon was an amazing preacher.

clipped from www.spurgeon.org
To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
You thought, did you not, that salvation was for the good? that God’s grace was for the pure and holy
He says that “there is none righteous, no not one.”
He comes, not because we are just, but to make us so: he justifieth the ungodly.
Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.

Our Soldiers

Our flag does still wave because of young people who are committed to serving our nation. Thank you!

I recently attended a showing of “Spiderman 3” here at LSA Anaconda.
As is the custom back in the States, we stood and snapped to attention when the National Anthem began before the main feature. All was going as planned until about three-quarters of the way through the National Anthem the music stopped.
Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments, and everyone would sit down and call for a movie. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in the first place.
Here, you could have heard a pin drop. Every Soldier stood at attention. Suddenly there was a lone voice, then a dozen, and quickly the room was filled with the voices of a thousand Soldiers

O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,

o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Heaven Can’t Wait

God’s free gift frees us to freely give.

clipped from www.worldnetdaily.com

This life is filled with things to worry about, and we could easily spend every waking hour of our day worrying. Some of us do just that.
But if we’re followers of Jesus, we know there’s far more to life than the struggles that confront us every day.
When Jesus told his disciples to trust him, he was reminding them to look at the big picture.
When we have the comfort of heaven, we put our worries aside and lay down our lives for the welfare of others. We’re no longer bound by fear and anxiety, but freed by the promise of new life with God. When our hearts are lightened by this promise, there is no end to the good we can do.

Duty to Country is Family Affair

Duty to Country Is Family Affair for Edmondsons
FORWARD OPERATING BASE MAREZ, Iraq
— Many children follow in their parents footsteps, but very rarely do the parents follow their in their children’s footsteps.
Spc. Michael Edmondson, postal operations specialist, 747th Adjutant General Postal Company, who has been stationed at FOB Marez since November, heard in January that the Army was sending him a very unique present.
“I was pretty excited when I heard my dad was going to be here,” said Michael.
Michael’s father, Lt. Col. Guy Edmondson, military transition team commander, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Iraqi Army Division, had spent four months trying to find a way to get sent back to Iraq.
“I started working different ways to volunteer for Iraq in August, when I found out he was deploying,” said Guy. “When I found out in January that we were going to be at the same base I was surprised.”
The father and son reunited the good, old-fashioned American way, over a meal at the dining facility, March 1.
